Amazon VoyagerII

ACCOMMODATION:  If you've decided to explore the vast Amazon watershed for your Peacock Bass Adventure, why not do it in comfort? You'll be accommodated aboard the Amazon Voyager, an 80-foot long fishing yacht/floating hotel, owned by one of the most respected families in Manaus. The owners are not only one of the most respected families in the northern Brazilian Amazon as far as their business operations are concerned, they are also lifelong sportsman who have fished these waters for a combined 55 years.

Amazon Voyager - Fish the Amazon in Comfort Rather than operate out of a fixed-based camp, which can limit your ability to take advantage of changing water conditions and fishing patterns.  The Amazon Voyager and her experienced guides spend the week exploring the Rio Negro, Rio Madeira and their tributaries in search of the most productive fishing locations.  There's a crew of twelve, including some of the finest guides in the Amazon, all desiring to insure your maximum comfort and enjoyment.

Luxury Accommodation
Amazon Voyager - Fish the Amazon in Comfort

The Amazon Voyager boat Marecca offers seven air-conditioned bedrooms, each complete with private showers and bunk style sleeping accommodations. The rooms are immaculately clean. The second deck houses the dining area, where you will enjoy buffet-style meals. The observation deck features comfortable sofas and cold drinks as you unwind and gaze at the star-laden Amazon sky. On board is a video and game room with satellite television and DVD stereo equipment. The Amazon Voyager boat Captain Oliveira offers individual staterooms and even more amenities than the Marecca.

Luxury Dining
Well Appointed Dining Room, Voyager II

Breakfast and dinner will be served aboard the Voyager in the well appointed dining room. To maximize fishing time, box lunches, along with fruit, beer, water and soft drinks, will be served on the water under a shady tree. The meals will be prepared under the watchful eye of a full time chef.

The chef prepares a variety of dishes, ranging from fish to chicken to beef. Fresh baked breads are available daily. Breakfasts may consist of eggs, pancakes, French toast and cereal, in addition to an assortment of fresh fruits and juices. Box lunches are prepared for you from an order form which you complete each evening and served on the water so as to not cut into valuable fishing time. Dinner offers a sampling of local Brazilian dishes, interspersed with more traditional American meals. Wine is served with dinner. The Voyager offers an open bar with local beverages.

Didn't bring the right tackle?  Peacock bass totalled your gear?  No Worries!  Rounding out the amenity list is a well stocked tackle shop, offering an ample supply of lures, line, split rings and hooks.  Although you are certainly encouraged to bring your own gear, the Voyager's tackle shop has a supply of the hottest lures: just in case your gear fails to make it on your international flight or if the fish have put your tackle out of commission!

Voyager Observation Deck

The Amazon Voyager features an observation deck to view the beautiful starlit tropical sky. You will also enjoy an open bar (national drinks and beer) and video and games room with satellite television.

Weather conditions in the Amazon:
Temperatures typically range from 75 at night to as much as 95 degrees during the day. Anglers should be prepared to fish under the equatorial sun and consider long sleeve shirts and pants made of a tropical weight material. Wide brim hats are also beneficial. The use of sunscreen and lip balm is an absolute necessity. Although we fish during the dry season, downpours do occur, so don't forget to pack a lightweight rainsuit.

Activities for the non-angler:
Spouse not interrested in fishing? There are PLENTY of fascinating activities for them to do and see! Although this operation is geared first, and foremost, to the peacock bass angler, the vast Amazon watershed offers a variety of unique ecotour options for the non-angling guest. Non-angling guests can pair up with a naturalist guide and explore the rainforest and villages that will be revealed during the Voyager's journey up and down the river. You can view the many types of plants, birds and animals unique to the Amazon.

Packing:
Upon receipt of deposits, you will receive packing lists, trip cancellation insurance application and a 56-page Complete Peacock Bass Angler text that will help you with every aspect of this trip.
