PEACOCK BASS FISHING BRAZIL GETTING THERE:
We Maximize Your Fishing Time

At Bassmex, we understand how much you're looking forward to your peacock bass adventure. After all, we're anglers too and we have the same passion for fishing and travel as our clients. To maximize your fishing time, you will fly to a landing strip (or in some cases fly via float plane) to the Voyager and begin fishing the day you arrive in Manaus. However, if you want to catch up on rest from your international flight that first day, you're cetainly welcome to head for your cabin and get some shut-eye in air-conditioned comfort. After all, you'll have six more days of angling ahead of you. You're not locked into any schedule.

To maximize your fishing time, rather than cutting the trip a day short to head back to Manaus, the morning following your sixth action-packed day of fishing, you'll be flown to Manaus via air charter and assisted with check-in for your international flight back to Miami on Varig Brazilian Airlines departing at 11:15 a.m.

Of course, if you desire to spend a few days relaxing and touring in Manaus after doing battle with the ferocious peacock bass, we can arrange for you to stay a few more days as well. Just let us know in advance, so we can arrange appropriate return international flights and make hotel reservations and schedule tours for you if you are so inclined .Amazon Brazil

Your Flight Schedule:
Varig Brazilian Airlines offers overnight 767 Jumbo-jet service from Miami to Manaus on a Saturday night at 10:30 p.m. This should allow you to arrive in Miami from just about any location in the states to make this flight. If you are coming from a moderate weather home city, we recommend allowing at least three hours from your arrival in Miami until the Varig flight departs. If you are from a home city where winter snow storms often result in flight delays, consider getting to Miami five hours before your flight.
You will depart Manaus at approximately 11:15 a.m. and arrive back in Miami at 3:30 p.m., again in plenty of time to make connecting flights home.

Manaus International Airport is the safest in Brazil. It is an international airport with connections to neighboring countries, making travel arrangements easier. We recommend their service and our departures and returns are scheduled around them. At Bassmex, we will arrange all of your flights for you and we prefer that everyone leaves from Miami as a group. This arrangement has been working without flaw for several years.

Voyager Observation DeckRemember, there are only 14 spaces available per week. As discussed previously, our fishing weeks are booked Saturday to the following Sunday. Other operations typically cut into two work weeks. We realize that vacation time is hard to come by, so we will only keep our schedules to one full week and not encroach into the next one. Time is of the essence to get a date reserved. You may book your trip through Bassmex as a solo traveling angler, or as a group. There is no up charge for a single, but all accommodations are double occupancy.

"Wild Bill" Skinner/Bassmex can help you arrange your flights and save you money and time.  He will also arrange for your Confirmations, Reservations, Ground Transfers, Fishing License, Lure Selection, Spanish Words and Phrases, Packing List, Lake conditions, Updates and more!  Give Bassmex a call on our toll free number at 1-888-769-0220 Anytime 24/7!  We guarantee the lowest possible prices at all our destinations!

"Friends, I'm a fishin' nut just like all of you.  I'll do everything I can possibly do to make sure that your "Trip of a Lifetime" is hassle free!  I know what ya want, so sit down and give me a call anytime night or day.  You'll be glad you did, I guarantee it"

Amazon Voyager Fishing Season:
The Brazilian Amazon offers to distinct fishing seasons, coinciding with the dry seasons north and south of the equator. On the Rio Negro (and its many tributaries) north of Manaus, prime time is between November and April. From August through October, the Voyager heads south to the Rio Madeira and its many tributaries. Despite our best efforts to schedule anglers during optimal fishing conditions, unexpected "dry season" rains can play havoc with the fishery, so anglers making this trip need to understand that we cannot control the whims of Mother Nature.

Amazon Voyager Logistics
Anglers must first fly to Miami from their home city. Following an overnight flight from Miami to Manaus, Brazil, you will be met by our representatives and then take a charter flight directly to the boat in Cessna Caravan float planes. From there, you'll board the Amazon Voyager, have breakfast, unpack and head for the fishing grounds with your guide, or, alternatively, the Amazon Voyager will travel to the fishing grounds and then you will commence fishing. Because of ever-changing airline schedules, your itinerary may call for you to stop in Sao Paulo before returning to Miami on your flight home. If possible, we will secure direct flights from Miami to Manaus and back. Airline schedules will be determined at the time of booking.

Amazon Voyager Travel Itinerary:
Day 1: Fly from your home city to Miami, connecting with a Brazilian carrier and then overnight flight to Manaus, Brazil.
Day 2: Early A.M. arrival in Manaus. You will then board a charter flight to Voyager. Board the Amazon Voyager. Begin fishing.
Days 3-7: Five full days of fishing.
Day 8: Morning fishing. Afternoon charter back to Manaus. Overnight hotel in Manaus.
