BASS FISHING MEXICO GETTING THERE:  BASS FISHING MEXICO, BASS N MEXICO / BASSMEX, are words that describe our business very simply.  We have been booking "Fishing and Hunting Trips of a Lifetime" to Mexico and other destinations for over 30 years.  Anglers have come to trust the name Bass N Mexico / BASSMEX.  Our success has come in a large part due to the fact, that our founder "Wild Bill" Skinner, is himself an avid Hunter and Fisherman.  "Wild Bill" understands what it takes for a working man to invest his time and money to enjoy this great sport.  With that in mind we go the extra mile to make each trip one to be remembered.  Like the "serious" golfer, most Anglers are not satisfied with fishing the same lake no matter how challenging or rewarding it is, so Bill simply offers more choices for the serious Bass fisherman!  His choices for great fishing are based on experience and El Salto is one of his choices for great Bass N Mexico.

Mexico El Salto
El Salto Sunset

Lake El Salto is carved into the rural countryside of Sinaloa, Mexico.  This great lake has really been producing some outstanding, Quality Bass in the past few years.  It is not uncommon to catch one or more Bass over 10 pounds on a trip to El Salto!  The average fish is well over five pounds, with the largest caught so far weighing in at eighteen pounds-eight ounces!  In fact, the lake record for a five-fish stringer is 66 lbs 9 oz - caught by Wild Bill Skinner in April 2001.  On the same day he had a ten-fish stringer that weighed 128 lbs 10 oz - another lake record!  WOW!  El Salto was stocked in 1988 with Florida strain largemouth Bass, and has been one of the hottest Bassin' Lakes in the world since then!

Lake El Salto was formed by the damming of the Elota River.  The lake has a maximum depth of 110 feet and has approximately 25,000 acres to fish.  The length is approximately 25 miles long and there are over 100 miles of Bass fishing shore line - fishing that will astound you.  All of this takes place in one of the world's most comfortable climates where the temperature is 65 to 85 degrees Oct through April.

The lodge is located about a 15 hour drive south of Tucson, Arizona if you opt to drive yourself down.  Being just 70 miles NE of the gateway city, Mazatlán (City of Sails), it is an easy two hour drive.  The roads to Lake El Salto are both, four-lane toll freeways, and paved two lane roads the last hour of driving.  This region of Mexico is traditionally safe and you can rest assured that Mexico is not a lawless country.  American tourists have been coming to this area for many years without an incident.

You can fly to Mazatlan's International Airport and be driven to the lodge by our staff. Alternatively, if you have the time of course, you can drive yourself all the way from mainland USA.

"Wild Bill" Skinner/Bassmex can help you arrange your flights and save you money and time.  He will also arrange for your Confirmations, Reservations, Ground Transfers, Fishing License, Lure Selection, Spanish Words and Phrases, Packing List, Lake conditions, Updates and more!  Give Bassmex a call on our toll free number at 1-888-769-0220 Anytime 24/7!  We guarantee the lowest possible prices at all our destinations!
