In-Fisherman's ace photographer
Jeff Simpson and I just got back from Trophy Bass Lodge at Lake
Huites. Wild Bill had always told me how great the bite was
at Lake Huites around the end of the season for Mexico, late
May. He wasn't kidding! It was an incredible trip that we will
never forget.
We had sensational action for big bass on
main-lake points, fishing big swimbaits, along with some crankbaits,
Senkos, and jigs. Several times, we had double-headers, and
even a couple triple-headers with fish from 7 to 9 pounds. We
shot some great material for upcoming issues of In-Fisherman,
featuring giants up to 10 pounds. At this time of year, be sure
to bring some 4", 6". amd 8" Storm WildEye Swim
Baits, and even some giant BassTrix, Osprey, and Castaic lures.
Bill has put so much effort into making his
new lodge the perfect set-up for bass anglers, and he has succeeded.
It is most comfortable, with a beautiful view of the lake. Moreover,
he has recruited one of the best chef's around, and a staff
that's always ready to help out. The atmosphere is relaxed and
suitable for any couples, families, and company groups.
Way to go, Bill. See you next year!
