Bill,
We had a great time at your lodge last week! I can not believe
how much ya'll have been able to get done since last May. As
usual, George and the gang did a great job, the hospitality
was fantastic as usual. I am not sure how many pounds Tony put
on me with those awesome meals, but I am hard at work to get
them off in preparation for my next visit.
As usual, the fishing was fantastic. We averaged well over 100
fish a day, up to 7 pounds. The last afternoon we were there,
we put somewhere around 250 bass in the boat in 2 hours! It
was without a doubt one of the most awesome feeds I have ever
witnessed.
We worked hard to get those big bass to bite, but with the off-colored
water down by the dam, we just never got them going. It was
sure good to see all of that new water in the lake, it was the
highest water level I have ever seen Lake Huites. It should
help to ensure many more great years on this awesome fishery.
The water was noticeably better the last day compared to when
we arrived, so it should be back to normal in the next week
or two. Then, it will be time to go back after those hogs!
Even though we didn't get any of those double digit fish, it
was still a fantastic time. Our guide did a great job running
the boat, and knew exactly where we needed to go to get the
fish. What more can you ask for?
