Peacock fishing in the Amazon with Wild Bill Skinner this December
proved to be another classic memory. Not only was the fishing
superb with many 'teeners caught and some twenties, the accommodations
at the Amazon Cutter operation were nothing but first class.
If you like to fish this may well be the ultimate angling experience.
These fish are as explosive as tarpon and strong as rooster
fish but this is in freshwater. The technique is similar to
topwater fishing for black bass with strikes that will stop
your heart. The first strike on your topwater lure on the first
day will scare you; the last strike on the last day will still
scare you. You can just never get use to it. The Amazon is truly
one of the last frontiers and when there you realize that you
are in one of the most remote, wild and beautiful places on
this earth. This is more than a fishing trip, it is an adventure.
Thanks Bill. Congrads on the 24 1/2 pounder and I am not even
a little bit jealous.
