Dear Wild Bill,
Just back from recent trip down to Los Mochis
- February 13-15 - and a most pleasant stay at Trophy Bass Lodge
with my good buddy Gary "Doc" Laden. I wanted to extend
to you my sincere thanks and tell you how great a time I had.
We were met upon arrival in Los Mochis by the
camp's superintendent George, who, after a long day already,
was happy to see all arrivals and after insuring everything
was picked up and secured, we headed for the Lodge.
After an adventurous meal at a local roadside
Taco joint at about 11 PM (quite a tasty surprise), we continued
our journey to the Lodge, which as you know turns out to be
quite an adventure, especially the last 17 miles!
The following morning began our glorious 3
day fishing extravaganza, which honestly should be entitled
a "catching" extravaganza, as this is quite a fishery
you've located in such a beautiful remote canyon. We were fortunate
to have Luis as our guide for the duration, who spoke excellent
English had a great disposition and outlook on many subjects
way beyond fishing and insured we caught plenty of fish, using
different methods, keying in on our moods and insuring we were
never bored! He is a most likable person, I enjoyed his company
and in spite of my less than professional fishing abilities
managed to snag quite a stringer along with a trophy fish over
10 pounds (see photo)!
Your Trophy Bass Lodge itself is quite attractive
with the Old Mexico Hacienda appearance. It is first and foremost
extremely clean and accommodations were all I expected and more.
Freddie our chief did a great job in catering
to our every need from the kitchen. He is quite an asset to
your operation, and I certainly was never hungry or disappointed
in the grub!
To wrap it up, it's a great destination fishing
trip for both experienced and non-experienced angler's alike
- resulting in spectacular catches! I have no way to predict
what the fishing future will be, however with your first class
operation and staff, Trophy Bass Lodge should enjoy its status
as the Premier Bass Fishing location for quite some time.
Thank you again for your hospitality; it was
truly a memorable trip.
I plan on coming back with my son Eric and
a group from Atlanta later this year.
